Our story

About

A living voice from Tibet.

Tibetan Lore is a small, independent studio for Tibetan Buddhist objects — incense, mala, prayer wheels, gau, and hand-cast forms — made to order for people who want the real thing, explained honestly.

Why we exist

Most of what’s sold as “Tibetan” online is either mass-produced and anonymous, or dressed up with claims no one can verify. We started Tibetan Lore to do the opposite: a small, considered range, sourced from workshops we can name, personalized to your intention, and accompanied by cultural context you can trust.

How we work

What we don’t do

We don’t sell luck, and we don’t make medical, healing, or miracle claims. We describe traditional use and cultural meaning accurately — and we tell you plainly what a piece is, and what it isn’t. When we can’t verify something (an origin, a consecration, an age), we say so.

Respect first

We treat this material culture as living, not decorative. We work to represent Tibetan Buddhist objects, symbols, and mantras correctly, and we welcome correction from practitioners and scholars.
